Easily accessible…

… Hamburg Messe is centrally located and can easily be reached by all means of transport.

Around 60 airlines offer direct flights from and to Hamburg Airport, making Hamburg accessible from approximately 130 national and international cities and more than 40 countries without changing planes.

The airport is located in the northern part of the city, in the district of Fuhlsbüttel. Travel from the airport to the Hamburg Fair site is by S-Bahn (rapid transit train), Line S1, which takes about 25 minutes; or by taxi, which takes about 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Hamburg Messe has good bus and rail connections with all the key areas of Hamburg. With an extensive network of rapid transit (S-Bahn) and underground (U-Bahn) lines, plus plenty of bus lines, the trade fair grounds are easy to reach from any part of the city, thanks to its good transport connections and central location.

Stations in walking distance:

  • Dammtor (S11, S21, S31), East entrance
  • Sternschanze (S11, S21, S31, U3), Central entrance / West entrance
  • Messehallen (U2), South entrance, Central entrance
  • Stephansplatz (U1), East entrance

Dammtor mainline station is just a few steps away. It links Hamburg directly with the mainline rail network of Deutsche Bahn, including ICE high-speed trains, thus connecting it with the international rail system. It is only 20 minutes’ walk from Dammtor station to the Central Entrance.

Alternatively, you can get to the Central Entrance from Dammtor by taking S-Bahn S11, S21 or S31 to Sternschanze (one station).

If you arrive at Hamburg Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), it is only one station from there to Dammtor station (for the East Entrance), by S-Bahn S21 (towards Elbgaustrasse). That is just two minutes on the train. From there you can have the same alternatives to get to the Fair.
